Green tea contains a lot of polyphenols with antioxidant properties such as flavonoids and catechins. It is widely known that its function is important for the repair of cell membranes damaged by oxidative stress. The most important component is a polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). There are many studies on various health effects such as prevention of lifestyle-related diseases by EGCG.
Green tea contains caffeine, although not as much as coffee. Moderate amounts of caffeine increase dopamine and norepinephrine , which help you focus. They are essential for brain cells.
There are studies that show that green tea can increase energy consumption by as much as 4% , and research reports that it enhances fat burning effects . These effects may be due to the caffeine contained in green tea, but tea drinking after meals can be expected to prevent fat accumulation .
The catechins contained in green tea have antibacterial properties . Drinking green tea after meals is known to eliminate tooth decay bacteria and prevent the occurrence of tooth decay and periodontal disease. It has also been reported to be effective in preventing bad breath and upper respiratory tract infections.
A study of approximately 40,000 Japanese who drink 5 or more cups of green tea a day found a reduction in mortality (men: 12%, women: 23%) and a reduction in deaths from heart disease (men: 22%, females: 22%) and cerebrovascular disease mortality (males: 35%, females: 42%). Green tea has various health effects.
I hope it spreads to the world as a major pillar of food culture.
