2017 Shizuoka Fresh Tea Purchase Part 2

In 2017, we were able to enjoy cherry blossom viewing for a long time, as the cherry blossoms of the limited fresh tea produced by our producers were very late.
The cold days continued, and the growth was delayed by about 10 days compared to the average year.
In Shizuoka, it was a year when a big difference was born depending on the production area.
Due to the cold weather, the cultivation of the soil by producers has a great influence on the growth of tea leaves.
Because the tea leaves did not grow evenly, the quality was greatly affected.

Not only the selection of the producers, but also the timing of which tea leaves are picked from which field, and the amount of tea leaves to be picked.
Depending on whether the tea is picked with emphasis on quality or what the producer's purpose is for making tea,
I think it's been a year since the quality difference is bigger than the usual year.
There are many teas that are easy to drink this year, but there are few teas with a really strong flavor.
We have carefully selected tea leaves with a strong umami flavor, and have devised ways to preserve the umami flavor as much as possible.
Please enjoy our unique “umami-rich tea” this year as well.
It will still take some time for the products to arrive in stores, but we hope that you will be able to enjoy the characteristics of the four major production areas of Kagoshima, Kakegawa, Kikugawa, and Makinohara.
We will have fresh tea that you can taste properly!
We will continue to upload them to our website, so please look forward to them! !
